No speaker for our last meeting just 'fun and games'.We had an evening of Pub Games. When members and visitors arrived they were given a pub sign which placed them in teams. They were possibley a Howling Beagle, a Wicked Lady,a Dirty Duck or part of the Cat and Fiddle team. They then pitted their skills against each other in shove halfpenny, bar skittles, dominos and cribbage. The shove halfpenny and bar skittles caused great hilarity and fun .They also had a pub quiz with five sections, food, music, local history, geography, and horticulture. (You always recognise the answer once they give them!) At the half way point three teams were on equal scores so it all rested on the second half. Concentration increased and so did the laughter. The final scores were close with only one point between first and second place, but the Wicked Ladies were victorious.Goodies were given to the winning team, wooden spoons to the Dirty ducks in last place and a consolation chocolate to the rest of the teams. It was a lovely social evening which all members enjoyed.
